How FinanceOS uses your connected data
You link your accounts once. From there, FinanceOS reads the financial data you authorize to build a complete, always-current picture of your money.
Connect securely
You link accounts through Plaid's bank-grade connection flow. Your bank username and password are entered directly with Plaid and are never seen or stored by FinanceOS.
Aggregate & understand
We read your balances, transactions, holdings, and liabilities to calculate net worth, surface trends, and unify every account across each person and entity in your household.
Categorize & budget
Transactions are automatically categorized and matched to your budgets, so you always know where your money goes — no spreadsheets, no manual data entry.

FinanceOS only requests the financial data needed to power its features. Every data type maps to a clear purpose.
Built to protect your financial data
Your financial data is among the most sensitive information you have. FinanceOS treats it that way at every layer.
Encryption everywhere
Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and encrypted at rest in our database. Nothing sits in the open.
Read-only connections
We request view-only access. FinanceOS can never move money, pay bills, or initiate a transfer.
We never see your login
Your bank credentials go directly to Plaid through its secure flow — they never touch FinanceOS.
Never sold, never brokered
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your data. There is no advertising and no data-broker pipeline.
You stay in control
Disconnect any institution at any time. Access is revoked immediately and the link is removed.
Private by default
FinanceOS is single-tenant. Your data is yours alone — it is never pooled with anyone else's.

1. Who we are
FinanceOS (the “Service”) is operated by Eze Media LLC (“FinanceOS,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the Service accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. Questions? Email admin@financesos.app.
2. Information we access
When you connect a financial account, we access the following through our data provider, Plaid, based on the permissions you grant:
- Account & balance information — account names, types, masks, and current/available balances.
- Transactions — dates, amounts, merchant names, and descriptions.
- Investment holdings — securities, quantities, and values.
- Liabilities — loan and credit account details such as balances and due dates.
- Account identity — account-holder details used to attribute accounts correctly.
We do not collect or store your bank login credentials. Those are entered directly with Plaid through its secure connection flow and are never visible to us.
3. How we use your information
We use the information solely to provide the Service to you, the account holder — namely to calculate net worth, categorize and analyze transactions, track budgets, monitor investments and liabilities, and generate your personal financial reports. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell or rent your personal or financial information. We share data only with the service providers that make the Service function, and only to the extent necessary:
- Plaid Inc. — securely connects your financial institutions and delivers the account data above. See the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic — provides the AI model used to help categorize transactions. Transaction details may be processed to return a category and are not used to train its models.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law or valid legal process.
5. Data retention
We retain your financial data only while your account connections are active. When you disconnect an institution or request deletion, the associated data is removed from the Service.
6. Your choices & rights
You can disconnect any linked institution at any time, which immediately revokes our access to that account. You may request a copy of, or the deletion of, your data by emailing admin@financesos.app.
7. Security
We protect your information using encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest, along with access controls that restrict who and what can read your data. All financial-institution connections are read-only.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date.
